Our Homeschool

​Changes to our location
Our homeschool, in the past, has been located next to our English, math, and music courses in a house next door. As we have grown, we have needed to move the girls to the same house as we used for our courses. Now, we are about to open our courses at a new location, as we open Seven Stars Academy on the main highway about a 5-10 minute walk from our home. However, our homeschool, at least the living quarters, will remain in the two houses where we currently live. 
Our Activities
Besides studying at home, we take some of our classes at Sopo Safari, a small outdoor/farm/green school that primarily serves the children whose parents subsist from scavenging recyclables from the local dump. Here, they learn civics, history, and Bahasa Indonesia. We have also enrolled our homeschool students in community courses such as organic agriculture. Besides general academic courses, we also teach courses such as swimming, first aid, cooking, hygiene and a host of other home related skills.
Our Students
Our students have mostly come from remote villages in the Batak Karo region of North Sumatra, but we also have my wife's niece from Nias. We provide a strong Bible centric home life but give the freedom to choose their own beliefs.
